Butterfly Blossoms is among the demonstration rain gardens at the Wastewater Treatment plant. This garden was designed to show the versatility of rain garden designs. They can be constructed to fit in the space available. The Butterfly Blossoms garden has a slight slope with a depression near the back wall. The garden is 1063 square feet and was planted in 2003. This garden does not receive a large amount of runoff and as a result, it has been overtaken with weeds on numerous occasions. (If you look closely, you can see the wild raspberry taking over the front corner.) Native plants with a greater tolerance to dry conditions have been replanted to try to keep the weeds at bay.
