The City of Superior Environmental Services completed shoreline restoration work along Billings Drive near Kelly and Kilner Bays in Spring of 2015.
The project involved laying black dirt and native seeds down. A stabilizing product, Flexamat (mat of tied concrete blocks), was installed over top. Native vegetation will grow through, and eventually conceal, the mat to stabilize the shoreline. A concrete cloth was used to line the ditch to prevent erosion. Culverts were adjusted to accommodate natural flow and sized to better handle normal to high flow.
