The City of Superior is excited to introduce the Dream Up! Child Care Grants made possible by funds from the Department of Children and Families. These grants are specifically designed to support capital projects for current and prospective child care providers within the city. The grant period will commence on September 20, 2023, and interested providers are encouraged to submit their applications by October 24, 2023.
Recognizing the critical need for high-quality child care services, the City of Superior is committed to fostering an environment that ensures the healthy development and well-being of its youngest residents. Through the Dream Up! Child Care Grants, providers within the City of Superior and Douglas County will have the opportunity to apply for funding up to $5,000, with the potential for an additional matching grant of $5,000 for providers within city limits.
The grants are open to both existing providers within Superior and Douglas County and soon-to-be providers who have plans to establish a new child care facility within city limits. Funding awarded through these grants should be utilized exclusively for capital projects that enhance the overall quality, safety, and accessibility of child care facilities.
Eligible projects may include, but are not limited to:
1. Renovations to enhance safety features and security measures within child care facilities.
2. Expansion or modification of existing spaces to accommodate additional children or specific program needs.
3. Upgrades to outdoor play areas, including the installation of age-appropriate equipment and safety surfacing.
